It's E1 of this, it's a Latias that Ash has never met. Movies aren't canon... somewhat. The Latias seems to simply like Ash and is watching his journey atm. I think she will show up again in E11.

You wouldn't get this unless it was ending. It's fine, I bet I'll like the new protagonists just as much. I've been with this since E1 and there will always be a place in my heart for Ash, but I am welcoming new protagonists (as long as we get a decent journey with them and it doesn't switch every season like Yugioh for the most part).
